Hey congrats on sale!

Just curious, what did you like on the Crownline 240LS vs the Stingray 250LR? Really just curious, I'm not that familiar with the other boat, so its always good to know whats other features are out there. The boat shows have becoming non-existent in DC so I don't get a chance to check around and see what neat features are out there. DC boat show was cancelled last year and they didn't even attempt to have on this year. There is smaller boat show this coming weekend, but it 1/2 the size it was last year and I haven't see on single add for it, even! I dont think I'll go, as I have ton of crap to do, including picking my boat up. :)

Congrats on the new ride!

I wanted to look at the 250 LR. I ran a quick build through the site, and by the time you get it optioned out it was going to be like $64,000 msrp. Even with Indy giving me his normal 10 % off I was looking at very high $58 - 59 range.

I heard so many on the SR site complain about the finish and fit and things poorly designed on the 250 that it kind of scared me a little. I can tell you that the Crownline has a great gel coat and finish to it. The hot tub seating in front was also a great design. Tons of storage. Lots of room with the layout too. When I sat in the far back left corner and looked up at the helm, I felt like I was on a 26, or 27 foot boat. Stainless (316 ) all the way around. Gas shocks on everything ( they are stainless steel too ) Also the boat comes on a heritage trailer. They are built right here in illinois. Very nice trailer. 5 year warranty on gel coat engine lower unit etc. lifetime on gauges. It's a really nice boat. Over all it just has the stingray beat, and the price was better. I paid like $53800 fpr my boat. If Indy came down 18 - 19 % then it would have been even on the price of the boat.

Even then the crownline is the better boat. Also the Stingray would have had to been ordered with the cat on the engine. I didn't feel like being a beta tester for that

who knows I could have horrible luck with the Crownline. I sure hope not. I know one thing, I could not have asked for a better boat than my 200lx for my first boat

Thanks for the synopsis. Definitely a good choice. I think the crown line is prob a bigger boat since the 25' probably doesn't include the swimplatform, where the stingray it does. I don't think stingray had issues on the 250CR/LR series, but definitely on the CS series. I had the 240CR and really really really liked it. My 240CR in '02 was around $34k sticker price (w/350 Mag and Alpha 1) - they definitely have gone up in price. I was surprised stingray priced the sticker way out there. In the past, they always seemed much cheaper that similar boats, guess that's not as true anymore. The crownline does seem to have a little better attention to detail and quality control as well.

Looks like I'll be going to the boat show locally afterall and will check around. Its going to be small, prob just SeaRay and bunch of shamwow and Vitamix type vendors.

Dulles Expo Center this weekend. I plan to get my boat tomorrow from the Newberg dealer. May try to hit tomorrow early afternoon. Or same on Sunday.

Stingray dealer not going this year. Only one hall this year too.
Call me if you want to meet up there. I'd love to buy you a beer.
